A small, overlooked pocket of land presented a tricky proposition: a sloping site, tight boundaries and a limited footprint, surrounded by existing homes. We saw the constraints as an opportunity to rethink what a contemporary terrace could be.
The design takes its cues from the Victorian terraces next door, drawing on their proportions, rhythm and materiality while giving the new homes a distinctly contemporary character. Carefully detailed red brickwork helps anchor the development within its surroundings, creating a familiar material language with a fresh expression.
Inside, every square metre has been carefully considered. Integrated storage, slatted partitions and flexible spaces help maximise the accommodation while maintaining a sense of openness and light. The result is a small collection of bright, adaptable homes designed to appeal to first-time buyers, young professionals and growing families.
