Common Practice is an independent architectural practice based in Chorlton, Manchester and offering services across the Northwest.  We believe in thoughtful, community-focussed, creative design for everyone.

Our clients are homeowners, self-builders, businesses and communities who want high quality buildings incorporating healthy design principles.  We believe that good buildings make great places, and great places mean happier lives and more cohesive communities.  We love working with ambitious clients, and truly believe that beautiful design doesn’t need to cost the earth (financially or environmentally!), so get in touch to explore your next project.

Common Practice is proud to be an RIBA Chartered Practice.

We offer a full-range of traditional architectural services which will cover your project from concept to completion.

Working closely with skilled local tradespeople we can tailor our services to have as much, or as little, involvement as the project requires.  We can produce feasibility studies, concept designs, undertake detailed planning applications, and also produce technical construction information for contractors to price and construct from.

Typical services we offer include:

  • Home extensions and renovations.
  • New build homes and housing developments.
  • Commercial retrofit, refurbishment, and fit-out.
  • Interior design services (commercial and residential).
  • Principal Designer for CDM and Building Control purposes.

For your peace of mind: all of our architects are ARB-registered and RIBA-chartered individuals, which means that we have undergone extensive training and maintain our continuing professional development (CPD) as regulated by our professional bodies.

If you have a project in mind and would like to chat it through with us, please feel free to get in touch on 0161 531 1471.
