A house which seeks to squeeze the most out of every square foot. The design cleverly extends the ground floor, to give a bigger kitchen and dining room whilst also giving the impression of a much larger garden, all within the same size plot.
The most striking element of the design is the fully glazed splayed wall of the single-storey extension, which eases the new extension out into the garden. This draws your eye out into the garden from the dining room, rather than being confronted with an opposing wall (If the extension had been rectilinear). The timber framed doors of the extension can be folded back to completely open up the extension to the garden, for social gatherings and summer’s evenings.
Internally, there was a reconfiguration of the rooms to create a new en-suite, a home office, a new family bathroom, and a loft which provides a master-suite with dressing room and en-suite.
